Mission: Day 10 of unemployment… a lesson in HUMILITY

It was just 10 days ago, when I got the call that it would be my last day… Now, after the dust has settled and all loose ends have been tied up.. I am left still feeling peaceful and hopeful. yet the last few days I have noticed some unsettling feelings…   Everything that was comfortable is now gone.  I feel like I am in a new place. But not so new.. its familiar. Not the confines of my comfy company vehicle, comfy salary, comfy schedule and comfy life…. but in a place much like a wilderness.  I little foggy and...

Mission: Finding My Way: Day 3 “Website, Check!”

So, as you may know yesterday was my Birthday.  It was a blessing that I didn’t have to work!   My most favorite Birthdays are the days when I have the whole day to do as I please and do not have to be on anyone else’s agenda!  That is true luxury this day and age!   I did lots of things that bring me joy! Slept in until 9am.  Bake some yummy Protein Chocolate Chip Cookie Brownie Bars.  Took the longest shower possible.  Did some job  searching, bill paying and resume making. Got caught up on laundry and stayed in my...

Mission: Laid off, now what? Finding My Way. Day 1.

John 14:27 (The Message) 25-27“I’m telling you these things while I’m still living with you. The Friend, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send at my request, will make everything plain to you. He will remind you of all the things I have told you. I’m leaving you well and whole. That’s my parting gift to you. Peace. I don’t leave you the way you’re used to being left—feeling abandoned, bereft. So don’t be upset. Don’t be distraught.” And that’s why I feel the way I do. I...

It’s cold again… Mother Nature- a tease or a reminder?

So many woke up today not excited about what was going on outside. It’s cold again. “Dang you Mother Nature, You tease…” (taken from someones facebook status this morning). Here in Ohio we are expecting ice and snow today and tomorrow. Temperatures are back down to freezing and we are reminded that it is Winter still. This past week we have been refreshed with a day of 65 degrees, 60 degrees and a 43 degree day full of sunshine and promise. Something about this brief reprieve of cold temperatures, motivates people...

Religion makes me want to puke in my mouth….

I recently read the book “Crazy Love” by Francis Chan.  It was a great book and he is a totally anointed writer.  Even though I have passed the book on to a friend, I can stop reveling in the small, powerful nuggets that the book contains.  I find myself using these nuggets as tweets and facebook posts to open the eyes of the world and bring life to the hearts that are cold. Last night, someone asked me to look into Pastor Mark Driscoll at the Mars Hill Church Ballard campus in Seattle, Washington.  So naturally, and intrigued...

Mission: Learning how to run… all over again!

Posted by on Feb 2, 2011 in Mission: Get Healthy | 0 comments

Its amazing what a little bit of education and research can do to your opinion on things.  The light bulb has turned on and my eyes are totally opened!!!! What I have been learning about, coined in the tech running space as “natural running” or “barefoot running” has totally opened my eyes to the deception that goes unnoticed by millions of people. What if I told you your thick soled, “cushioned” “supportive” athletic shoes were the reason your running gait is jacked up.  Thats because your...

Golden Voice Homeless Man from Columbus Ohio and his “Other” story….

In 24 hours I and about 5 million people in the WORLD watched this man and his story flood every stream of media. youtube, blogs, facebook, twitter, radio, TV…. everyone was talking about this man with a Golden Voice. When I found his video yesterday morning I instantly placed it on my facebook page.  Then, it had just 35,000 hits.  As I write this, this video below has over 6 MILLION views.   I, like many was touched by his story.
