Seduction… He is Seducing me.. but its not what you may think.

when you read that word… what sort of feeling does it give you? or image?

does it only have a sexual connotation?

a negative angle?

Do you think of Scandal?

Do you think of God’s character? weird huh?

I wanted to describe the last few days and this crazy thing that God is doing in me…

but the only word I could find to describe it, was …”seduction..”

but it just didn’t feel right to use that word.

it feels weird to put the word “seduction” and “God” in the same sentence, right?

I looked up the definition just to see if there may be a better term to describe this feeling…or if I was using this word improperly?….

/sɪˈdus, -ˈdyus/ Show Spelled[si-doos, -dyoos
–verb (used with object), -duced, -duc·ing.

1.  to lead astray, as from duty, rectitude, or the like; corrupt.
2.  to persuade or induce to have sexual intercourse.
3.  to lead, attract or draw away, as from principles, faith, self or allegiance.

so, i guess it has 2 meanings..

1.  to tangle/ensnare

2. to entice/attract

but still, even after looking at this and researching it…

using this word to describe how God is moving into the center of my heart, into a place of worship and encounter can’t simply be placed into a one word definition…

Synonyms: allure, attract, beguile, captivate, charm, come on to, enamour, entrance, sweep off one’s feet, tempt

Those words are all powerful and you can visualize the action these verbs hold… but still, it holds nothing in comparison to what He is doing in me.

I love words, but in this moment, I can not find the right word to properly describe.  Nothing in this life ever leaves me wordless, only He does.

When you pray for Him, to come in, increase,  to be in the center of your heart, you better mean it, because it’s going to happen.

He may work in you as He is working me…

seducing me... drawing me away from myself and into His heart

alluring me…He is seeking me from everywhere

attracting me… to righteousness and His perfect peace

captivating me…by a great love I can not comprehend

charming me…by new revelations of His holy and humble ways

enamoring me…with a such a way, I am in awe, I can not find any human words to describe it.

Behold, I will allure you, will bring you into the wilderness and speak comfort to you. I will give you vineyards from there and a door of hope. You will sing there, as in the days of your youth…And it shall be in that day that you will call Me ‘My Husband’… I will betroth you to Me forever, yes, I will betroth you to Me in righteousness and justice, in loving-kindness and mercy. I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness, and you shall know the Lord… I will have mercy on you who had not obtained mercy, then I will say to you ‘You are mine’ and you will say ‘You are my God’.

Loving you,

NKJV Hosea 2:14-23

  1. I completely understand where you are. It’s an inexplicable place of worship where there’s an inviting spiritual quietness like you’ve never experienced before but yet seemingly almost tangible enough to want to share and describe with words. All this going on within even though there’s every reason for a chaotic reaction to the uncomfortable circumstances without.

I do think it’s a privilege to be in a place like this because there are a few people who actually have the burning bush experience that leads to a Holy Ground declaration. There’s always a place in the life of a christian, whether through a situation or a season where we’ll have to meet God, take off our shoes and declare it’s Holy Ground. I believe it’s inevitable. It’s what crystallizes our Christianity. The fact that we realize and respond by our stillness and reverence is what makes it a privilege because our Creator meets ‘in person’.

Keep basking in this alluring experience, it’s what you do on a Holy Ground.

    God bless you.
