Statement of Faith

Melissa’s Mission, is not just Melissa’s.

My Mission, is one of Gods’ missions.

I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.

Matthew 25:40

My cause is His cause.

My will is His will.

Because of Christ Jesus, I know of the gift of living water.

Jesus is the water that brings life to the soul. By drinking the living water one can live and never thirst again. Jesus is that Living Water.

He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water    — John 7:38 (KJV)

Water was scarce in Jesus’ day, yet water was as much a necessity for life then as it is today. Just as the physical body needs water to continue living so does the spirit. Jesus is the water needed by the spiritual part of man. Without Him the soul will eventually die. The soul is thirsty and we try to quench that thirst with many things that satisfy for awhile, but eventually we get thirsty again.  The only thing that can truly quench the thirst of the spirit is the living water, Jesus Christ.

As I look at the photos posted from Charity:Water instagram, like this one:

Clean water brings joy in Arekober, Ethiopia @charitywater

I am over joyed to see the way that clean water is changing lives.  The extra money I make from building websites is being poured into an organization that is building wells and access to safe drinking water.  That those who thirst for the most basic of need, their need is surly being met.  In Africa alone, people spend 40 billion hours every year just walking for water. Women and children usually bear the burden of water collection, walking miles to the nearest source, which is unprotected and likely to make them sick.  Time spent walking and resulting diseases keep them from school, work and taking care of their families.  With safe water nearby, women are free to pursue new opportunities and improve their families’ lives. Kids can earn their education and build the future of their communities.   A clean water project nearby means more than safe drinking water to women and children in developing nations; it means time, freedom and incentive to change their communities.

That’s awesome right?

But, What about us?

We too have to go to the well everyday with our jar because we live in the world thirsty for fulfillment.

Jesus makes the same offer to us as he did to the woman at the well:

Whoever drinks this water will get thirsty again;

But anyone who drinks the water that I shall give

will never be thirsty again:

The water that I shall give

will turn into a spring inside welling up to eternal life.

Each of us has the choice to draw water only from the well every day or to also accept the living water that Jesus offers us.

What is this living water?

Put simply,  we could describe this living water that Jesus offers us as the love of God.  If we don’t receive this living water from Jesus every day, we will look for satisfaction in ways that will never please.

What is the driving force of your life at the moment? Are you all wound up in something that is not the love of God and not preparing you for heaven and not bringing you real deep lasting happiness?

…or are you drinking the living water of Jesus every day?

If you would like to know more about this Jesus, that provides this gift of salvation, I would love to share it with you.

I thank God for the desire he put in my heart to reach those in need.

I thank Him for the gifts and skills He gave me to help businesses reach their own mission and goals.

I thank Home for sending His son Jesus, to atone for my sins, for eternal life, for salvation, for quenching my thirst of relationship with the One True God.
